Motorcycling Through the Best State Park in the USA

Those of us who regularly ride motorcycles know that Letchworth State Park is one of the best rides around. Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve taken the opportunity to sneak over to the park in the early evenings to take a ride and enjoy the sights and atmosphere. Bikers already know the pleasure you get from a trip through the “Grand Canyon of the East”. It’s an easy going ride, and the speed is no higher than 40 mph, so you can take your time to navigate the winding roads that take you through the park. Because the Portageville entrance is closed, I headed in ...

Our Winter Wonderland is Famous!

Our Winter Wonderland is Famous!

Did you happen to catch the TODAY Show this morning? If not, you missed Wyoming County and Letchworth State Park! Dylan Dryer, meteorologist for the show, reported live this morning from the fountain at the Glen Iris Inn, which has almost completely frozen over forming an "ice volcano" of sorts. How psyched were we to find out they would be on-site, sharing our county with the entire nation? If you haven't had a chance to see this formation live, get down to the Glen Iris and check it out for yourself. It's supposed to warm up this weekend - a perfect chance to explore o...

An Evening at the Charcoal Corral

Even though I work in tourism for Wyoming County, and visit these attractions almost on a daily basis for work, I thoroughly enjoy getting the chance to experience one of our attractions from a “tourist” point of view. Last weekend I had the opportunity to do just that when I spent an evening at the Charcoal Corral and Silver Lake Twin Drive-In. I can sum up the evening in four short words: I love the drive-in. From our arrival on the grounds, to the end of the movie, everything about the evening was fun and enjoyable. The Corral offers something that most ot...
