If there’s snow on the ground, there’s plenty of family fun to be had this winter in Wyoming County!

If you like cross country skiing, tubing, or snowshoeing – here are some outdoor adventures for you.

Letchworth State ParkGo tubing and sledding at the hill next to Trailside Lodge right near the Humphrey Nature Center. The Lodge has plenty of space and a beautiful fireplace to warm up in between runs. The Humphrey Nature Center also offers educational & interactive exhibits and programs throughout the season that will entertain kids of all ages!

Immerse yourself in the peaceful woods of Letchworth and do some cross country skiing & snowshoeing on Trails 2, 2A and 3. Start at the Trout Pond near the Trailside Lodge and loop through open hardwoods and peaceful pine forests where you’ll feel like you have the entire park to yourself!

The Genesee Valley Greenway (Trail 7) is a great place for novice and/or families looking for a flat and easy trail. The Greenway is a rails-to-trail, so get in plenty of miles without hills, brush or any other obstacles – all while enjoying the backdrop of our majestic landscape!

Byrncliff Golf Resort & BanquetsByrncliff is WNY’s premier cross-country ski & snowshoe destination with over 12 miles (20 kilometers) of groomed & lighted trails making it a unique and memorable way for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy winter. Beaver MeadowGorgeous woods, peaceful trails and plenty of wildlife are abundant in Beaver Meadow as you snowshoe & cross-country ski over 8 miles of trails. From hardwood forests and conifer coves, to marshlands and the famous Beaver Pond, this nature preserve is a spectacular place to experience nature.

Families will enjoy exploring the Beaver Pond Trail. This short trail is easy to navigate, and provides great views of the Beaver Pond – which wraps around the Nature Center & Gift Shop! Looking for an invigorating adventure? Park your car at Jenny Glen and take the trail to Hawk Ridge until it meets the Long Trail. Head towards the Backwoods Loop and enjoy one of the most serene places in WNY!

Beaver Meadow’s trails are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, they have educational and interactive programming that runs year-round, and most importantly – you can rent snowshoes for only $5 a day!

Arcade Village ParkGo sledding, tubing & snowboarding with your friends and family! The Arcade Village Park has a +200-foot-long hill ready to provide you with hours of outdoor excitement. The hill is lit for evening fun, so you don’t have to miss a minute of winter adventure. There are pavilions nearby, so pack a picnic lunch and make a day of it. The park is open year round and closes at 10pm daily.
