The Wyoming County Chamber & Tourism is encouraging everyone to vote for Letchworth State Park in the 2015 USA Today Readers Choice Award for Best State Park. Letchworth State Park is one of 20 nominees selected by US travel experts and was nominated out of over 6,000 state parks nationwide.
“With the recent popularity of the ice fountain at the Glen Iris Inn, this is a great time for the contest due to the international, national and local media coverage that the Park has garnered,” said Meghan Nulty, V.P. of Tourism and Marketing. “Let’s keep the momentum going and recognize this well-known attraction right here in Wyoming County.”
Voting for Letchworth State Park is easy; simply visit USA Today’s contest website http://www.10best.com/awards/travel/best-state-park/, scroll down the page and select Letchworth. You can vote for the park once per day until the contest ends on March 30, 2015 at noon ET.
The earliest state parks in the United States date back to the mid 1800s, and today, the 50 states collectively manage well over 6,000 state park units that draw in over 700 million annual visitors. With so many parks, USA Today reports that it was a tough job narrowing it down to 20 nominees for Best State Park, but that's just what their panel of U.S. travel experts were tasked to do.
